Braun Series 9 Electric Shaver Review

It’s always good to see the latest from Braun, one of the top men’s shaver manufacturers in the world today. The Braun Series 9 9090cc came out recently, and is part of their premium Braun Series 9 line. Not only does it look expensive in its shiny medium gray/silver plastic body, but the matching Braun cleaning center will look great on the bathroom counter too. This Braun product has earned the official NFL locker room product designation.

The Braun Series 9 9090cc is priced at $320, and electric shaver reviews give it 4.5 to 5 stars, which is fairly impressive, as shaver reviews are often all over the place, resulting from a man’s personal preferences.

When this shaver came out most men were excited to see what kinds of features it did have. There is a circular on/off button about 2/3rds down its front, with an LED screen giving battery charge amounts. The cleaning center is in the same matching colors of this cordless shaver.

This Braun Series 9 is a foil-style shaver, and can be used wet or dry. Braun claims that this shaver is the best in the line for being efficient, as well as making short work of a three day beard. Many shavers are best for a one day old beard, so Braun wanted to do better than that.

Braun has created the SyncroSonic technology. There are four different cutting blades built into the foil of the shaver. Each of them has 40,000 cross-cutting movements per minute. This means that between each of the four, they will effectively snip off all types of hair. This quadruple cutting action will not only result in a cleaner, smoother shave, but a shaver that takes less time in the morning. Only the Braun Series 9 currently utilizes the SyncroSonic Braun technology.

Within the shaving head of this shaver is a fully flexible shaving system. Micromotion and Macromotion technology enable the blades to snip off more hair in one pass. There are two different Optifoils built into this shaver which provide the last two stages of each pass of the shaver. There is also a Direct and Cut trimmer that will lift up hairs and trim them, even if they’re lying in different directions on the skin. The HyperLife and Cut trimmer will lift up hairs that are lying flat against the skin. This is particularly helpful in regions around the neck and chin area.

The Braun Series 9 9090cc also promises to provide a more comfortable shave. A man’s facial skin won’t be red or inflamed afterwards. The Braun shaver and cleaning unit weigh under 2.6 pounds. The shaver is designed to be ergonomic, which means that it’s easy to hold in the hands.

This shaver is meant to be 100% waterproof, so that you can use it while shaving with soap and water, shaving gels or lotions, and be able to rinse it under a tap. It can withstand depths of up to five meters deep, so should you drop it into a bathtub, it’ll still run perfectly well. You can clean and shave at the same time, which will trim time from you needing to run the facecloth over your face in the morning.

This also means that it can be cleaned with the cleaning center. You place the Braun Series 9 shaver head down into the cleaning center and press a button. The center takes special cleaning cartridges that contain an alcohol solution. The shaver will then be cleaned, charged, and lubricated. It will be ready by the next morning for another full week of shaving usage.

At the back of the shaver is a popup precision trimmer. You can use this to trim sideburns, moustache, or beard.

One full charge of the battery will give you fifty minutes of shaving time, enough for a week or a week and a half.

You’ll find that the Braun Series 9 9090cc has a more powerful motor, so if you’re a man with thicker, tougher hair to shave, you may wish to make a higher investment in the Braun Series 9 9090cc men’s shaver.
